Wisdom teeth are usually the last set of natural teeth to emerge, often making their first appearance during late teen or early twenty years. Although it's important to keep in mind that not everyone requires removal of wisdom teeth, x-rays may indicate potential impaction and removal may help avoid infection, jaw pain, or overcrowding issues.

Wisdom teeth may become compromised in various ways:

1. Angled towards the Front: When teeth partially emerge from their gums but remain positioned towards the front of the mouth.
2. When inclined toward the Back: Teeth have partially emerged but now remain tilted to face back of mouth.
3. Vertical beneath the gums: When teeth are correctly aligned but trapped beneath gums. 
4. Horizontal below gums: When trapped beneath gums.

Impacted wisdom teeth can cause considerable pain, swelling and infection if left unchecked, so don't delay! Call our dental office immediately if you suspect yourself or any member of your family may be living with an impacted wisdom tooth issue.

2. Tooth Placement: After the implant is placed, our dentist will have an artificial tooth created that connects directly to it.

Dental implant placement requires oral surgery skills and experience for optimal results. When successful, implants allow patients to chew properly again while also improving both appearance and oral health.

Jawbone grafts may be recommended when the jawbone mass and density have diminished, leaving loosening of teeth or an extraction necessary. To remedy the situation, we may suggest receiving a bone graft.

Support of dental implants: For dental implants to be successful and supported properly by jawbone tissue, healthy and strong jawbone structures must exist in their patient. A bone graft can make otherwise unqualified candidates eligible to receive implants.

Denture support: Dental implants offer support to dentures by building jaw strength. 

Gum disease treatment: Patients suffering from advanced gum disease often experience jawbone loss due to bacteria infection eroding bone tissue and leading to infections of gums and jawbone.

To conduct a bone graft procedure, your dentist will numb the affected area before creating a small incision in your gums to access underlying bone structures. After cleaning and treating any necessary areas, they will add grafting material that stimulates new jaw tissue formation.
